In spring and summer, you can watch professional baseball action as the Tennessee Smokies play 70 home games at their brand-new stadium just off Interstate 40. Racing fans will want to check out NASCAR Speed Park, a veritable haven of go-cart action. While you're in town, you'll also discover museums, underground caverns and a petting zoo.
Music fans have plenty to cheer about as well. Sevierville boasts three music theaters, offering an eclectic range of sounds -- from country and gospel to oldies rock 'n' roll and the sounds of Broadway. Governor's Palace Theatre hosts a star-studded celebrity concert series, featuring the likes of Merle Haggard, George Jones and Loretta Lynn. You can even find entertainer Lee Greenwood performing nightly at his own showplace.
Of course, don't forget to break out the plastic while staying in Sevierville. Bargain hunters will enjoy exploring the city's two outlet malls, both of which give shoppers great deals on top-name merchandise of all kinds. The town is also host to miles and miles of antique shops and flea markets where you might just discover your next family keepsake.
If recreation is your thing, Sevierville is a terrific choice. Nearby Douglas Lake offers two recreational areas and access to 30,600 acres of water -- perfect for fishing, boating, camping and swimming.
If you're a golf fanatic, you won't have to travel far to get a fix -- the city's Eagle's Landing Golf Course is only a short hop from downtown.
